Responsible recruitment is good for candidates and good for business. It builds trust, reduces turnover and protects your reputation as an employer.

1. Candidates never pay to be hired
A responsible recruiter does not charge candidates for finding them work. IRM does not charge candidates to register or to be considered.
2. Be accurate about the job
Describe duties, wages, hours and conditions accurately. Surprises after the start date are a major cause of early resignations.
3. Treat every candidate consistently
Use the same criteria and questions for everyone applying for the same role.
4. Communicate clearly and on time
Let candidates know where they stand, including when they are not selected.
5. Know your obligations
Employment standards, workplace safety and any other legal requirements remain the employer's responsibility. Seek qualified professional advice where you need it.
